About
Katrina Ahuja - Fashion Designer - New York, NY
I studied Womenswear Fashion Design at FIT, with a minor in Art History. I come from a creative background with a passion for design development and research, with an emphasis on sustainability, good fit, and size-inclusivity. During my time at FIT, I acquired prolific draping, patternmaking, sewing, sketching, research, presentation, and CAD creation skills.
I am proficient at using Photoshop, Illustrator, and CLO3D. I have developed garments using draping, patternmaking, and sewing, incorporating a range of materials including wovens, cut-and-sew knits, and sweater knits. I also have experience in developing woven, print, and knit fabric designs using the Kaledo Textile Suite and Adobe Illustrator. I maintained a 3.94 GPA throughout my program of study, which was been not only creative and technical, but also taught me to work well on a design team, through group projects and thorough critiques from fashion industry professionals.

Before my studies at FIT, I ran my own small business as a piano teacher in New England for five years. It was a joy sharing my love of music with young children, and my love of music transitioned perfectly into my current career in fashion.
