SENIOR THESIS -
RECONSTRUCTED BEAUTY

Reconstructed Beauty is my senior thesis at FIT. This capsule collection focuses on overlooked things. Abandoned spaces, covered with graffiti is the aesthetic inspiration. The concept is further inspired by the forgotten heroines of WWII, brave spies, pilots, messengers, and radio wave operators that did valiant work that is rarely recounted in movies or history books. All of the garments in this collection have been completely refashioned from vintage garments, giving them a new life. These upcycled looks are a reminder that there is often great beauty in things that have been forgotten.

All garments in Reconstructed Beauty were constructed from pre-owned thrifted clothing that was carefully disassembled and refashioned into the garments in this collection. Aside from the trims, jacket lining, and yellow mesh, all of the materials were sustainably sourced and upcycled.
